| Name: | Tales of Tektonia |

Before we begin, allow me to note that Tales of Tektonia has nothing to do with the Tales RPG videogame series.
Hi! I am the author of the hopefully-soon-to-be-published book, Tales of Tektonia Part I: The Red Pen, which is the first of at least five books I'm planning on writing. This is its official blog. I'll be sure to keep you all up to date on progress, future plans, and any random thoughts which might occur.
But first here's a little bit about the series. TALES OF TEKTONIA is a five-part series of books (or "quintilogy," which is a big word I like to use to make myself sound cool) It stars a twelve year-old girl named Chloe Gibbler who stumbles upon a seemingly ordinary red pen, which she later discovers has a very mysterious power. In the series' first installment, Chloe become inadvertently stranded in the massive, beautiful, fictional world of Tektonia, and must seek the help of many interesting characters, confront a sinister (and anonymous) adversary, in order to recover the red pen and return home safely.
As of December 2006, the series' first installment has been finished and is being edited by me for grammar and plotholes and stuff. I am now working on getting it published, which may be a rather difficult task as it is my first novel! Despite this, I am still working on a plot outline for the second book, and have already done a little bit of writing on it. I plan to start seriously concentrating on it as soon as the publication of the first one is underway.
Now for a little bit about myself, in case you're wondering. My name is Stephen (which is pronounced like "Steven" but spelled differently -- Hey, you'd be surprised how many people call me "Steffin"). But if that is too tough for you, you may call me Steve. I'm 22 years old and live in Maryland. I have been writing since I was about 9. Whenever I wasn't playing video games or at school or babysitting, I would write Zelda fanfiction in my spiral notebook for hours at a time. I didn't try to start writing anything novel-sized until I was 17, which is when the very early stages of ToT came about. At that point it was called Game Over and was about a sixteen year old boy named Wayne and his twin sister Lauren (sound familiar?) finding a "magical red pen" and getting trapped inside a strange video game-ish world. But eventually, a few things changed, and I ended up deciding to write a story about Wayne's future daughter Chloe instead.
Oh, and for those wondering ... the "birthdate" above (January 16, 2003) happens to be the day I started writing Tales of Tektonia. Yup, it's been four years!
